Mini in The Park 2002 - Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire

As usual, MiTP was an excellent show. The weather couldn't have been better, in fact, if anything, it was TOO hot and sunny! There were some amazing Minis, and it was a really enjoyable show. Many thanks to Mark from Minis of Tamworth for giving me a lift down there. It would have been nice to drive down in MOL, but due to the Norwich Union's incompetance at sorting out a simple insurance claim, MOL's still off the road more than 3 months after the crash! Anyway, an excellent day was had, and many photos taken, take a look!...

I tried to get a photo of this car at L2B 2002, but there were so many people crowding around it, I didn't get chance. I managed to get a photo at MiTP for all you guys that haven't yet seen it. It's an unbeleivable car, but you have to wonder about the mental health of the owner!

This car kind of defies words really!

A rear view of that hornet. The rear can be removed completely, flip-front style!
Integra Type-R Power! - Click for a larger image

I was hoping to see this car after seeing it in September 2002's Car and Car Conversions magazine. A Sportspack Mini with a Honda Integra Type-R engine. Wow!

The Integra Type-R engine.
Cooper Works - Click for a larger image

A Cooper Works replica car in the cars for sale area. Quite different from the VTEC Mini!
A Nicely Done Retro Mini - Click for a larger image

This car kind of reminded me of Herbie! It was probably the paint, with the red and blue stripes that did it.
Tidy Engine Bay! - Click for a larger image

This car had a really tidy engine bay, plenty of shiny bits, and that chequer plate on the bulkhead looks really cool, I reckon.
MiniSpeed's Demo Car - Click for a larger image

MiniSpeed's demo car caught my eye as it stood out from the crowd. Probably because of the not so common metallic grey paint, and the Image split-rim wheels.
Supercharger AND Nitrous! - Click for a larger image

MiniSpeed's demo car has a supercharger and nitrous injection, I bet this car's pretty bloody quick!
A Racing Fuel Cell - Click for a larger image

A photo of a fuel cell from a racer. I'm not quite sure why, but I found this quite interesting!
KAD Rear Disk Conversion - Click for a larger image

P&L Minis had a car jacked up that showed the KAD rear disk conversion really well, along with the coil-over suspension.

A KAD 16V Mini. I want, I want!
Go Baby, Go! - Click for a larger image

The now famous FLZ 1380, aswell as the monster ICE install, it has a huge tank of nitrous in the boot, for those "special" occasions ;-)
A Cool Paint Job - Click for a larger image

The photo doesn't really do it justice, but this was a really cool paint job. Definitely one of the better "two-tone" effects I've seen.
Smooth Rear! - Click for a larger image

This car had had its rear smoothed over. Looks pretty good I reckon!
A Retro Look Mini - Click for a larger image

I'm quite fond of the MK1 retro look myself. I like those chromed wheels too!
Shiny Engine! - Click for a larger image

This one had a remarkably shiny engine bay!
An ERA Turbo - Click for a larger image

I'd never seen a silver ERA Turbo before. First time for everything!
Sexy Pickup - Click for a larger image

I thought this pickup looked fantastic. I'm a real fan of those little 10" reverse rims on early cars.
Union Jack Paint - Click for a larger image

I saw this one in the car park on the way into the show. I thought the union jack paintwork and the fat compomotive alloys looked pretty cool.
