London to Brighton Run 2004

This year, being the Mini's 45th Birthday, promised to be a good one for the L2B run and it didn't dissapoint. I didn't camp over this year, opting instead to get to Crystal Palace Park early in the morning to join the run down to Brighton. I was in the lucky minority that didn't get stuck in traffic on the way to Brighton and I got there at about 10:30am. The drive down was brilliant, such a good atmosphere, with people at the road-side waving and all the minis rising to the occasion and beeping and flashing in response. We passed a convoy of Fiat 500's coming the other way on the A23 and we all beeped and waved at each other too!
By the time I got to Brighton, it was getting pretty hot and sunny and it stayed that way all day. I had a good look around, got sunburnt and spent too much money, then I went home a happy man.

I loved the look of this Mini, I really like this colour on a Mini and I think it suits the mix of mk1 stying, with sport-pack arches and wide wheels really well.
